You should think that companies spend a great, or at least a small amount of time on copytext: writing, fine-tuning, getting rid of spelling mistakes. Not JoinR, a GeRman community in the fRiendspace. They have got a pretty silly mistake on their frontpage making the service even more insert your comment here. Screenshot after the click.
Wrong: DEIN eigene homepage
Correct: DEINE eigene Homepage

Ok, German is difficult I know, but it shouldn’t be when you are based in Germany, founded, funded and powered by Germans :)
Update: Joinr corrected their spelling mistake

I watched an interesting speech at the Drupal Conference Barcelona about newspapers stepping into the online world and their rather ancient methods. Even when using Drupal they’re mostly not taking full advantage of the web 2.0 functionality provided. A couple of positive examples are listed below, one of them being Welt Debatte for which I did the design.

I’m looking forward to being at the Drupal Conference in Barcelona, Spain taking place from 19th until 22nd September 2007.
Lots of interesting speeches, workshops and people to meet. For example, a case study about the migration of the New York Observer to Drupal, Advanced JavaScript techniques, the FormAPI and much more.
I am happy to have been invited by one of my clients to attend this year’s d.construct conference in Brighton, UK.

There were a lot of interesting speeches about user experience design and agile development in general. Speakers included Jared Spool from UIE.com, Peter Merholz (President) from Adaptive Path, George Oates (Principal designer) from Flickr.com, Denise Wilton (Designer) from moo.com and many more. The only side-effect of the 45mins speeches was that they couldn’t deepen their thoughts.
I wish all my clients, friends and colleagues a merry christmas and a successful, happy new year 2007!
Here is my little present for you: a winter mountain landscape I created as desktop wallpaper. The photo was taken in Austria at an altitude of approx. 3000m, in the summer of 2006. Nevertheless it had -1°C!

Finally! In between two major projects I have found time to publish my portfolio website. I wanted to do this a long time ago but you know how it goes when there are much more important tasks in the queue: getting your project successfully online, and on time.
For now you will find the most important facts about me and the services I offer. Even though the site isn’t very large in content it should grow in the future as I add case studies, news, private projects and more. Stay tuned.
